Umpire Guide |
If you would like to be an umpire please contact Sophie or any member of the MLP
Admin team.
- A marked Headquarters table should be made in the designated room 15-30 minutes before the match is set to begin.
- You must be on YM or able to recieve IM's while umping
- Anyone who disturbs the match (cussing, arguing, caps, ect) should be removed from the table.
- The home team has choice of sides. Whichever side they choose, is the side they will play on for the entire match.
- The visiting team will chose their player first each match - giving home team the advantage of knowing who they will be facing.
- Once a player has been called there can be no substitutions made.
- Make sure all matches are being reported by checking the daily results after each match. If necessary, pause between matches until reports are caught up. Failing to report could result in the player being boxed - Please stress this to the teams. Keep notes of any matches not reported to give to admin on duty.
- If a player is booted, frozen, or becomes absent from the table at any time during the game, they are put onto a 10 minute timer. Once time expires, they lose that particular game.
- If a 2nd timer is required at another time in the match, and a 10 minute timer has expired on the first individual, the 2nd timer will last for 3 minutes and once it has expired, the entire match is forfieted.
- Players must always show good sportsmanship. Swearing, cussing, caps ect. could be grounds for disqualification from playing. It is possible to DQ someone who has already played if they are disruptive in this way at all during the remainder of the match. Forward the names of any player who you feel should be boxed to the admin on duty.
- The lobby also must never be disturbed by any visiting players during an MLP event. This could also be grounds for DQ.
- As an umpire you are a member of MLP staff and should act accordingly. Please always be fair and objective.
- Last but not least, as you are enforcing the rules remember that we're all here to have fun!
